We weren't really looking for another horse. You know how that goes. Mandy Jo ("Porgy") sort of found us. We purchased her as a driving mare for a friend, but got her home and couldn't part with her. While she certainly does not meet the Haflinger breed standard for color, she is a credit to the breed as a performance horse. She is an absolute joy to drive and we have used her in the show ring, for pure pleasure driving and as a lesson horse to help new drivers learn the ropes.

In addition to being a great single driving horse, Porgy drives double and is a steady, reliable teacher to hook with the younger horses. She is getting some work under saddle and is proving to be a nice riding horse as well. Porgy just seems to fit in where ever she is and is able to do whatever we ask. We feel very fortunate to have found her...or did she find us?
